Tips: My friend who is a master carpenter helped me put this all together. My advice is to take your time and measure three times before cutting because these tiles are expensive. Ha! Lay everything out if you can and always consider where the overlays will happen in regard to how most will view the room. We used the copper nails as well and it helps to pre-drill a pilot hole.

Describe Your Project: Our house was built in two different era's, the 1850's and the early 1900's. We decided to tackle the downstairs powder room and did a complete tear down (to the beams) and rebuild to reflect an early 1900's vibe. We installed a genuine Thomas Crapper sink from England, along with historically correct (curved corners) subway tile from the UK as well. We used many original and restored pieces from the 1920's including the light fixture, toilet lever and towel ring. The floor tiles are from France and the toilet is a 1942 Kohler Trent which is the surviving piece from our original bathroom. The solid copper ceiling was the finishing touch that gives the room a feeling of vintage elegance.

Would You Recommend This Project To A Friend And Why?: Absolutely. We ran into issues working with metric plumbing and the restored all brass pipes and fixtures but the end result was worth it. Thank you for looking and good luck with your project!
