"Renovated bedroom in our 70 year old home. Ceiling previously was a popcorn ceiling that was covering two layers of wall paper. The tiles easier went up on top of two layers of wallpaper. It saved a ton of time to not have to remove the wallpaper and we get tons of compliments on the tiles. The tiles are easily painted also. We are so happy with how our DIY turned out. " Glued up Styrofoam ceiling and crown molding. We had an angle in the ceiling and the tiles worked beautifully.Absolutely, once prepped the tiles go up very quickly. We used the adhesive from decorative tiles also and it worked very well."
Tips: I painted unfinished molding and tiles with flat white acrylic paint. We are in a home built in 1848 so nothing is square , but we were able to complete the ceiling with little effort using a fair amount of silicone caulk to cover small gaps.
