“My husband wanted his home office to be classy but “dingy”. He referenced the salon/parlor in the newer Sherlock Holmes movies. We went with dark/dramatic paint colors and dark furniture, but brought in a pop of color with the bronze of the ceiling tiles. We chose the fan to complement the warmer ceiling tones.Yes, definitely. Tiles are more expensive than painting, but they do so much more for a room. Is someone wants to add a lux feel to a space, this is the product for it. It is high impact with not all that much work.“
Tips: The styrofoam tiles are not perfectly square. Some are bigger, some are smaller, some of their corners aren’t perfectly peaked. After laying a few rows, we figured this out. Most walls aren’t perfectly straight or even, either. We did a lot of searching through the tiles to find one that was well fit to the space we wanted to fill. It took more time, but looks great. There are still a few tiny gaps where the four corners meet, which I will fill in with black paint.
