"This poor old house was built in 1896; but at the time we bought it was a sad, bank owned repo, and needed a LOT of love. I researched and researched and was thrilled to find decorative ceiling tiles.net, I had ordered A La Maison Virginian tiles for another room where the lath and plaster was repaired but unsightly (I absolutely loved how they turned out so I ordered these A la Maison Bostonian for the stairwell (I wish you could see ALL the before & after pictures) this is one of my favorite spaces, it is truly is a Cinderella story. We had to repair patches of the lath and plaster, some was so shot it had to be sheet rocked. We replaced one window that was too badly damaged to restore (the stained glass one of course stayed and is ORIGINAL to the house!!!) the ceiling had been wallpapered with a heavy textured wallpaper, if we tried to remove it, it would Damage the plaster so we decided to go over it… and we’re so very thrilled we did!"
Tips: Measure twice, cut once. We used the snap off utility knives to have a sharp blade. Order the glue they sell, it’s amazing! Have 2 people, makes it go fast! We have great fun watching this stairwell perk up with each tile we glued up.
