Can't say enough about the durability and the ease of working with this crown molding. I cut all of this with a hand saw granted I used a fine blade from a hacksaw. Cuts very fast and very nice and is very forgiving. I used mine for accent lighting what's required a little more Ingenuity on attaching it to the wall considering it wasn't also attached to the ceiling. I screwed short pieces of an old broomstick round to fit the curvature on the back side of the crown molding) to the wall at my joints and one piece in the middle putting them at 3 feet apart. I then nailed the crown molding to the pieces of wood with finish nails. The lights illuminated through the styrofoam a little more than expected. With it already installed I thought of painting it but the only thing I had brushable was a water-based wood stain. The brush Strokes alone made for incredibly simulated wood-grain lines which turned out to accidentally look fabulous. And with stain, imperfections become its friend which add to that antique look so not to worry about seeing any joint lines or nail holes you actually see all of them but they look awesome. And that again accidentally only happens with wood grain. Love this stuff can't wait to find other uses for it. Photos aren't in chronological order but you can figure out the order just by the photo itself.
